Toronto FC (3W-3L-5T, 14 points) host reigning MLS Cup champions Inter Miami CF (5W-2L-4T, 19 points) at BMO Field on Saturday afternoon. The Matchday 12 encounter in Toronto, Ontario kicks off at 1:00 p.m. ET and will be available globally in English and Spanish on Apple TV and on TSN 3/4 in Canada.

The Reds enter Matchday 12 eager to return to winning ways, with Saturday’s clash marking their final home game before the FIFA World Cup 2026 break and the ninth and last outing of a nine-game MLS home stretch from March 14 to May 9. Historically, TFC holds a 2W-8L-2T record across their first 12 regular season meetings with Miami and will look to secure their first home victory over the Herons since March 2023.

HOME SWEET HOME

Toronto FC resume their MLS campaign on Saturday afternoon, hosting 2020 expansion club Inter Miami CF in the final home match as their global send-off before the FIFA World Cup 2026 break. With stadium upgrades at BMO Field now complete, the venue, which will host six FIFA World Cup 2026 matches including Canada’s opening game on June 12 and a Round of 32 match on July 2, will feature its largest attendance to date as it prepares to welcome the world’s top talent. After earning results in seven of their eight MLS home matches this season, TFC holds a 127W-100L-89T all-time record (470 points) in MLS regular season matches on home soil.

THROUGH THE YEARS

TFC face the reigning MLS Cup champions Inter Miami CF for the 13th all-time regular season meeting between the two Eastern Conference clubs. Historically, Toronto holds a 2W-8L-2T record through their first 12 meetings with the Herons. On Saturday, the Reds will look to secure their first home victory over Miami since March 18, 2023, when second-half goals from Canadians Jonathan Osorio and Mark-Anthony Kaye clinched a 2-0 win.

The Reds enter Matchday 12 eager to bounce back and return to winning ways in the ninth and final match of a nine-game MLS home stretch from March 14 to May 9.

After earning results in six of their first seven home matches (2W-1L-4T), TFC played to a 1-1 draw against Western Conference and Supporters’ Shield leaders San Jose Earthquakes (9W-1L-1T, 28 points) on Saturday, May 2. Prior to kick-off, Toronto FC and BMO formally handed the keys of the stadium over to Canada Soccer in a pre-game ceremony featuring Kevin Blue (CEO & General Secretary, Canada Soccer), Catherine Roche (CMO, BMO), Jason Hernandez (TFC General Manager), Jonathan Osorio & Richie Laryea (TFC players) as part of the club’s True North Match celebrations.

The Reds struck early, with Dániel Sallói curling home just 110 seconds in following a neat midfield exchange between Markus Cimermancic and Jonathan Osorio. The 2nd minute goal was Sallói’s team-leading fourth of the season and Cimermancic’s first assist for TFC. San Jose equalized through Preston Judd in the 13th minute, while TFC II defender Micah Chisholm made his club debut as a 46th minute substitute, becoming the eighth player to debut for the Reds this season.

On Tuesday, May 5, Toronto FC fell 1-3 to reigning Canadian Premier League champions Atlético Ottawa in the preliminary round of the 2026 TELUS Canadian Championship at BMO Field. Toronto FC II trio Jackson Gilman, Reid Fisher and Jahmarie Nolan all made their First Team debuts in the starting eleven, while Antone Bossenberry started his first match for the club. The Reds opened the scoring early again, as Deandre Kerr finished Derrick Etienne Jr.’s low cross with a powerful first-time strike. The 16th minute strike marked Kerr’s 21st goal for Toronto FC, moving the Homegrown forward into joint-seventh on the club’s all-time goalscoring charts. Atlético Ottawa equalized through Ballou Tabla in the 71st minute before the Canadian attacker struck again 10 minutes later to give his side a 2-1 lead. The CPL side were then awarded a late penalty in stoppage time, which Tabla converted from 12 yards to complete his second-half hat-trick and seal a 3-1 victory for the visitors.

GETTING TO BMO FIELD

As Toronto FC welcomes more than 40,000 fans to BMO Field for Saturday’s match against Inter Miami CF, marking the largest crowd in the stadium’s history, the club has shared arrival instructions, including new entry and exit points, for their final home match prior to the FIFA World Cup 2026TM. All match-attending fans are required to enter through the gate as outlined on their ticket. Gates 1 and 3 have updated entry points, with Gate 1 now located at the North-East corner and Gate 3 at the South-East corner of the FIFA World Cup 2026 TM stadium perimeter. Gate 5 will also be operational for premium entry, with no changes to its location. Metrolinx will operate additional service along the Lakeshore East and Lakeshore West lines to accommodate venue arrivals and departures. The Don Valley Parkway will be fully closed from Highway 401 to the Gardiner Expressway (Jarvis Street ramp) from Friday through Sunday. Fans are encouraged to plan ahead, use public transit and check trip schedules in advance due to the closure and limited parking onsite.

FAMILIAR FACE

Toronto FC goalkeeper William Yarbrough, who joined the Reds in January, previously spent time with Saturday’s opponents, Inter Miami CF. The Mexican-American shot-stopper signed with the Herons as a free agent in May 2025 and was part of the goalkeeping group during their 2025 MLS Cup-winning campaign.
