Toronto FC II announced that the club has signed defender Adam Pearlman to an MLS NEXT Pro contract. Pearlman will be added to the club’s roster pending league and federation approval.
“Adam is a fantastic signing for our club and we are extremely excited to have him on board,” said Toronto FC II Head Coach Gianni Cimini. “He has great technical and physical qualities of a young centre-back and most importantly, he has consistently demonstrated the right mindset needed to continue his development.”
Pearlman, 17, represented Toronto FC Academy in Ontario Player Development League and U.S. Soccer Development Academy action across the U-12 to U-19 age groups from 2016 to 2021. In 2018, he participated in the U-13 CONCACAF Champions League with the TFC Academy in Toluca, Mexico. Born in Johannesburg, South Africa, Pearlman originally joined the Toronto FC Academy in October 2016 after spending time with Glen Shields Futbol Club and Future Soccer Academy.
“During his time in the Academy, Adam has been a top performer on every team he has played for since 2016,” said TFC Academy Director Anthony Capotosto. “His leadership qualities emerged at a young age, which served him well as a captain and centre-back for multiple Academy teams. As staff, we are very proud to see Adam sign his first professional contract with TFC II and continue his development within our Club.”
