TAMPA, Fla. – USL League One announced on Monday the Team of the Week Presented by Cleer Audio for Week 30 of the 2021 regular season, with Greenville Triumph SC defender Abdi Mohamed named Player of the Week after recording one assist and producing an outstanding two-way performance in his side’s 2-0 victory against North Carolina FC on Saturday night at WakeMed Soccer Park.
A regular starter throughout the season, the Somalian full back recorded the assist on Greenville’s second goal of the night by Allen Gavilanes in the 32nd minute as part of a tremendous individual display. Mohamed recorded six key passes overall as Triumph SC looked to add to its lead and won 8 of 9 duels, 3 of 4 aerial duels and 3 of 3 tackles while completing 30 of 35 passes overall in Greenville’s fifth consecutive shutout. The result saw Triumph SC move into second place in the League One standings on the final day of the season, earning a bye to the Semifinals of the 2021 USL League One Playoffs, presented by TwinSpires.
FC Tucson led all teams with four players selected for the Team of the Week after it jumped into fourth place in the standings after a 4-2 victory against FC Tucson on Saturday night to close out the 2021 regular season slate.
USL League One Team of the Week – Week 30
GK – Paul Christensen, Greenville Triumph SC: Christensen put in a solid display with a two-save shutout against North Carolina FC to record his team-leading seventh shutout of the season as Triumph SC moved into second place in the League One standings.
D – Luca Petrasso, Toronto FC II: Petrasso notched one assist, had three key passes and completed 36 of 50 passes overall while defensively winning 3 of 3 tackles and making 11 recoveries in TFC II’s 1-0 win against the New England Revolution.
D – Abdi Mohamed, Greenville Triumph SC: Abdi put in a tremendous two-way shift with one assist and six key passes in attack while winning 8 of 9 duels, 3 of 4 aerial duels and 3 of 3 tackles defensively in his side’s 2-0 win against North Carolina FC.
D – Maxi Schenfeld, FC Tucson: Schenfeld provided one of the goals in Tucson’s crucial 4-2 victory against the Richmond Kickers on Saturday and was solid defensively, winning 7 of 10 duels and making five recoveries.
D – Luca Mastrantonio, FC Tucson: Mastrantonio scored once and completed 43 of 52 passes overall while defensively he won 3 of 4 aerial duels, 7 of 11 duels and recorded two interceptions in Tucson’s 4-2 victory against the Richmond Kickers.
M – Paul Rothrock, Toronto FC II: Rothrock scored the only goal of the game in Toronto’s 1-0 win against the New England Revolution II and had four shots overall while completing 25 of 32 passes.
M – Joao Delgado, FC Tucson: Delgado recorded two assists and had four key passes overall while completing 28 of 34 passes in Tucson’s 4-2 victory against the Richmond Kickers and also notched six recoveries defensively.
M – Blaine Ferri, North Texas SC: Ferri had a strong game in the center of the field for North Texas, completing 71 of 79 passes overall and notching two shots and three key passes in attack while also winning 8 of 11 duels and making seven recoveries in his side’s 1-1 draw with Union Omaha.
M – Steffen Yeates, Toronto FC II: Yeates kept Toronto moving in the center of midfield, completing 40 of 46 passes, 2 of 2 dribbles and two key passes while recording three interceptions, four recoveries and winning 2 of 2 tackles in his side’s win against the New England Revolution II.
F – Emiliano Terzaghi, Richmond Kickers: Terzaghi capped his second consecutive Golden Boot campaign with his 18th goal of the season against FC Tucson and recorded six shots while winning 9 of 16 duels at Kino North Stadium.
F – Shak Adams, FC Tucson: Adams scored the final goal of the night for Tucson in its 4-2 win against the Richmond Kickers and completed two key passes and 13 of 16 passes overall to help his side seal a place in the 202
