TFC26-ROS-FullTime-16x9

Toronto FC (3W-2L-3T, 12 points) extended their unbeaten run to six matches with a dramatic 3-3 draw against the Western Conference’s Austin FC (1W-3L-4T, 7 points) on Saturday afternoon, courtesy of second-half goals from Dániel Sallói, Richie Laryea and Kobe Franklin at BMO Field.

Toronto FC Head Coach Robin Fraser made a pair of changes from last Saturday’s side against FC Cincinnati with Kobe Franklin and Raheem Edwards coming in for Benjamín Kuscevic and Matheus Pereira.

The hosts began the match on the front foot and nearly found a swift breakthrough less than two minutes in. A sustained attacking sequence forced Austin FC captain Brad Stuver into action early, as the shot-stopper produced a triple save in the span of eight seconds to deny efforts from Josh Sargent, Derrick Etienne Jr. and Kobe Franklin.

The wet and overcast afternoon intra-conference clash saw early drama in the ninth minute when Austin FC defender Nicolás Dubersarsky was initially shown a straight red card for a challenge on Raheem Edwards. However, referee Drew Fischer downgraded the decision to a yellow shortly after, following an in-stadium VAR review.

Down the other end, TFC goalkeeper Luka Gavran was called into action and made a pair of key saves to keep out efforts from Facundo Torres and Myrto Uzuni in the opening half.

Despite Toronto’s positive start, Austin FC found a breakthrough in the 29th minute, when Jon Bell fired home from close-range following a long throw-in to give Los Verdes the lead heading into half-time.

The Reds pulled level seven minutes after the restart as José Cifuentes’ low cross took a deflection and fell kindly into the path of Dániel Sallói, who steered it home from close-range with his thigh.

The 52nd minute equalizer marked the Hungarian winger’s team-leading third goal since joining the Reds in February.

The hosts took their first lead 15 minutes later when Sallói’s deflected cross into the box found Richie Laryea, who showcased quick footwork before rifling a powerful left-footed strike into the roof of the net.

The 67th minute finish marked Laryea’s second goal of the 2026 MLS season and his 15th for his hometown club.

The visitors responded with a quickfire double, scoring twice in the space of four minutes through Facundo Torres in the 78th minute and Christian Ramírez four minutes later, to restore Austin’s 3-2 advantage.

TFC showed resilience of their own late on when Kobe Franklin emphatically fired through the legs of goalkeeper Brad Stuver

The 88th minute equalizer marked Franklin’s first career MLS goal and ultimately proved decisive, earning his side a point in a 3-3 and extending the club’s unbeaten run to six matches since March 8.

Toronto FC take on Atlanta United next in midweek action on Wednesday, April 22. Kick-off from BMO Field in Toronto, Ontario is set for 7:30 p.m. ET and will be broadcast globally on Apple TV.
