Toronto II will battle the Charleston Battery on Sunday night following the conclusion of the first team’s clash with the New York Red Bulls. To get you set here is our match preview.

The Young Reds are coming off an impressive performance on Wednesday that saw the boys overcome a two-goal deficit to steal a point from the east leaders FC Cincinnati.

Charleston comes into the match winless in their last six games. The Battery have drawn five and lost one in that span. They currently sit in 7th place in the eastern conference with a 5-3-7 record. The Battery have struggled away from MUSC Health Stadium with just a 1-2-4 record.

This is the first meeting between the two sides this season. All-time TFC II is 2-4-0 against Charleston with both wins coming in Toronto. Last season the two split the season series with TFC II winning 1-0 on a Shaan Hundal goal in August.

Two players to watch from Charleston are Ataulla Guerra and Skylar Thomas. Guerra leads the team in scoring with 7 goals in 14 games. The veteran Trinidad and Tobago international has 40 caps and 5 goals for his nation. The midfielder is in his third season with Charleston.

Thomas is a name TFC II fans will recognize. The native of Toronto was selected by the Reds in the 2015 MLS SuperDraft. Thomas was part of the inaugural group of players signed ahead of TFC II’s first season. The defender played two years in Toronto before headed to Charleston last season. Thomas has played in 14 games this season recording a goal.
