The Young Reds are back at Lamport Stadium for a Friday night showdown with the kids from Atlanta. It’ll be just the second game at Lamport Stadium for the Young Reds having previously drawn FC Cincinnati 3-3 in late June.
It’s also the second game this week for the Young Reds as they come in fresh off a commanding 4-1 victory over the reigning USL Champions the Louisville City FC.
Atlanta comes in winless in their last seven matches going 0-4-3. Overall, they are 3-13-8 and sit just 5 points ahead of TFC II. They drew with Indy Eleven on the weekend 1-1 in Atlanta.
The two sides played to one of the most thrilling games of the season so far in mid-May as the teams combined for 9 goals at Coolray Field in Atlanta. Luca Uccello had a brace and both Ayo Akinola and Aidan Daniels got on the scoresheet in Georgia.
Atlanta has rotated their squad quite a bit this season but two staples in their lineup have been Jack Metcalf and Jon Gallagher. Metcalf has appeared in 22 games this season and made his passes at an 84.4% completion rating. Gallagher leads the team in scoring with six goals and is tied for the lead with 2 assists.
