The Young Reds are back at the Ontario Soccer Centre to face their rivals, the Rochester Rhinos, after taking an important point on the road against Charlotte Independence at Ramblewood Soccer Complex last Saturday.

It was a valuable point that encourages the squad to continue their fight to move up the standings in the Eastern Conference.

The Young Reds have been solid offensively, but the missing puzzle has been their mentality to resist the pressure and shut down their opponents.

“We have to be strong,” said Bent. “We have to improve that mentality and know that the opposition is going have a spell in the game, and we have to be able to resist that.”

With the absence of Raheem Edwards due to injury, 16-year-old Brampton native Shann Hundal has stepped up for the Young Reds.

“I think he is getting respect day in and day out from the players,” said Bent. Hundal has scored in two consecutive games and is looking to add more goals in order to help the team win.

“I want to score whenever I can, but I’d be a great boost if I can score at home too,” said Hundal.

It’s not just Hundal that’s been creating chances for the Young Reds. Second-year winger Sal Bernal has been creating opportunities for his teammates as well as becoming a consistent goal threat.

Rochester is coming to the Ontario Soccer Centre on a high after getting back on track this past weekend with a 2-0 victory over FC Montreal. With those three points the Rhinos sit comfortably among the top eight in the East Conference.

One of the players to watch is Christian Volesky, who recently registered his eighth goal in just six games. “They have two strikers in the box that are quiet dangerous, Dos Santos and Volesky,” said Bent. “We must get tight to them.”

TFC II is looking confident and working on containing a well-organized team in the Rhinos. “Don’t be fearful of losing a game and play to win,” stated Bent on Thursday, setting the mood for Saturday’s match at the Ontario Soccer Centre.
